Doja Cat is once again redefining her pop artistry with the release of her highly anticipated new album, VIE. Known for her fearless experimentation and genre-bending sound, Doja delivers a project that pushes her creative vision to new heights.
Released on September 26, VIE marks Doja’s fifth studio album, featuring production from Jack Antonoff, Y2K, and more. The 15-track project includes the recent hit single ‘Jealous Type‘, which climbed to No. 3 on the Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart and reached No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album also features collaborations such as ‘Take Me Dancing‘ with SZA, a smooth, sultry duet that fans will replay endlessly alongside standout tracks like ‘Gorgeous‘, which recently received an official music video.
To celebrate the release, Doja hosted a party in partnership with Apple Music. Held at Apple Music’s new Los Angeles studio, the “Club Vie” experience was live-streamed for fans worldwide. During the event, Doja debuted tracks from the album for the very first time, with high-profile guests in attendance.
The album’s title, Vie, means “life” in French and hints at the themes throughout the record. With sounds inspired by the ’70s and ’80s, the album shows how Doja has grown as an artist. She explores love, life, and more, mixing her clever lyrics and humor with a darker, more experimental style.
Alongside the album, Doja is preparing for her “Ma Vie World Tour”. So far, dates have been announced across Asia, New Zealand, and Australia, with her first televised performance of the era set for Saturday Night Live on October 4. North American fans can only hope more tour stops will be announced soon.
