KENDRICK LAMAR NAMED THE “MOST IMPORTANT RAPPER OF HIS GENERATION”

Although recently crowned the title of being the “most important rapper of his generation,” by The New York Times earlier last year in May, Kendrick Lamar has been sitting among the stars since his breakout album “Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.”

The 35-year old rapper just released his fifth studio album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers” around the same time (last May) receiving the largest number of first day streams in 2022 on Apple Music. Reflecting on his childhood, the power of his place in rap and hip-hop culture, Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers is just the surface of his artistry and hauntingly bold honesty about what it’s like to heal while being seen as a defining figure in music.

Receiving a Pulitzer for his 2017 studio album, “DAMN.”, Kendrick Lamar has also made history by being the first rapper to become a Pulitzer Prize winner. Although cohesive with the other albums in his discography, all of them carry different themes which seem to capture where he’s at in his career and music.

Needless to say, many people are excited to see how “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers” ages alongside his whole discography while looking forward to his next album.
