LeBron James has been in the NBA for twenty-years, and since his first step onto the court as a professional he has been able to achieve so much in that time frame. Last Tuesday night, LeBron broke the scoring record during the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with a jumper to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s mark of 38,387 points.

A record that many didn’t believe would be broken as it was cemented for over 40 years. Now that it has been broken, we now will witness how many more points LeBron can add and set the next goal post for future stars to try to break.

Officials put the game on hold for a moment to be able to honor him on the court, where his mother, wife and children met and embraced him. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver congratulated him, and Abdul-Jabbar who handed him a basketball like a torch was being passed.
