RISING ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: MO-MONEY

From South Carolina to Los Angeles, MO-MONEY is carving out her own lane in hip-hop with a style that’s bold, unapologetic, and authentic. Her name was inspired by her constant drive to succeed and securing the bag. “I was always talking about money or how I could get it,” she says. “My friends started calling me Money, and I added MO in front to make it stand out.”

At 19, she left her hometown and relocated to LA, a city she now proudly calls her own. Since then, MO-MONEY has been laying the foundation for her career performing on stages, releasing singles, and building a loyal fanbase. But her vision goes far beyond the local scene. “Right now, I’m in the building phase. I’ve made noise in my city, but I want to be on a global level touring, charting, and creating music that lives beyond the moment,” she says.

MO-MONEY’s Style

MO-MONEY’s image is as versatile as her sound. She describes herself as “a mix of tomboy and boujie,” equally comfortable rocking Jordans and a tee or stepping out in heels and red nails. Musically, she blends trap and club anthems with raw hip-hop energy music designed to empower and energize. “It’s gritty, confident, and real, but it also has bounce and fun,” she explains. She sums up her artistry as her “Freedom of expression, being able to take my life experiences and turn them into art that connects with people. Plus, the energy of performing live is unmatched.”

Why should fans tune in? “Because it’s real, it’s raw, and it’s fun. My music makes you feel powerful, confident, and ready to take on the world.”

With new singles, visuals, and collaborations on the way, she promises her fans that the best is yet to come. Her advice to aspiring artists is direct: “Stay consistent, don’t let anyone box you in, and remember that setbacks are part of the process. Believe in yourself harder than anyone else will.”

Inspirations and motivations

Growing up in a church-singing family, MO-MONEY fell in love with music’s ability to move people, even if she wasn’t singing like the rest of her relatives. Rap became her way to express herself. “I use it to talk about being doubted, counted out, and overlooked. I turn all of that into fuel,” she says.

When it comes to dream collaborations, she names Rihanna, Chris Brown, Future, and Nicki Minaj as artists she admires for their versatility, longevity, and star power. Her biggest motivation? Herself. “I came from nothing, was looked down on because of who my parents were, and people counted me out early. I promised myself as a kid that I’d be somebody, and I’ve carried that energy ever since.”

Highlights and Goals

She’s already had unforgettable moments, from opening for big artists to hearing fans say her songs boosted their confidence. Singles like ‘Cheeky‘, ‘ADDIT‘, ‘BBL‘, ‘Toodaloo‘, ‘Boujie‘, and ‘444‘. Looking ahead, her 2025 goals include touring, expanding her network, and building a loyal support system. But her ambitions reach beyond music: she hopes to give back by creating housing opportunities for low-income families while also developing luxury living spaces. “It’s bigger than music for me; I want to create a legacy that impacts lives.”

The road ahead

The path hasn’t been easy. Resources, money, and support weren’t handed to her, and she’s faced plenty of doubt along the way. Still, she’s used every challenge as motivation. If she could give her younger self a piece of advice, it would be simple. One lesson she wishes she’d known early on was “Patience”, as she explains, “Success doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a marathon, and the key is consistency, building relationships, and knowing your worth.”

A message to her fans and what’s next

MO-MONEY is working on new singles and visuals, with exciting collaborations coming up. She’s independent for now but open to the right partnership. Through it all, she lives by her motto: “All pressure, no gimmicks.” Her message to fans is simple: “Thank you for riding with me. Everything I do is to inspire you to go harder in your own life. If I can do it, so can you.” For MO-MONEY, this is just the start, and she’s ready for what’s next.
