Just recently we witnessed the 65th Grammy Award show. There were incredible performances by Sam Smith, Kim Petras, Harry Styles, Stevie Wonder, DJ Khaled and many more. As far as awards go, Beyonce received the most nominations for major categories such as record of the year, song of the year and album of the year. She also won four Grammys, one was for the best dance/electronic album, “Renaissance” which is her newest album fans have been obsessing over. She also won best r&b song for “Cuff It” as well as best dance/electronic song ‘Break My Soul”. Her final win was for the best traditional r&b performance for “Plastic Off The Sofa”.
In her speech for the “Renaissance” award, Beyonce gave a short but sweet message thanking her family as well as the queer community for all their love and support in inventing the genre.
The number of nominations Beyonce received over the years at the Grammys is 88. This is a tie with her husband Jay-Z. Another Interesting fact is that their daughter Blue Ivy also won a Grammy back in 2021. She stood next to her mother in the music video to “Brown Skin Girl”. Blue Ivy holds the record for the second youngest person to win a Grammy.
Overall this year’s 65th Grammy Award show was a huge success and the public was able to celebrate and give back to some of our favorite and beloved artists.
