CAMP FLOG GNAW TURNED 10

Camp Flog Gnaw Sets 2024 Dates: How to Get Tickets

For the past 10 years, music lovers get ready for the most exciting festival there is in Los Angeles. Camp Flog Gnaw is a 2 day festival that happens at Dodger Stadium run by artist Tyler the creator. Every single year the lineup upgrades with very talented artists. With it being the 10 year anniversary, fans knew that it would be something big and Tyler didn’t disappoint.

It’s expected for people who are buying tickets to a festival to know the lineup prior to seeing if they are getting their money’s worth. Tyler decided to switch it up for this year. He decided to build anticipation by releasing the lineup less than 3 weeks before the actual festival started. Naturally, this sparked some criticism amongst fans. People turned to social media to vent about the lack of certainty with the lineup with some even saying they regretted buying their ticket. While I understand the complaints of fans, I think Tyler’s choice with this lineup was a testament to his connection to music. Some of the artists on the lineup have completely different sounds and styles, but their listener demographics overlap with one another. The music this festival featured spoke to all ages, genders, and people from all walks of life. Above all, Flognaw was an ode to people who live and breathe music. I think this was Tyler’s perfect playlist and he wanted to hear it live. I think that was Tyler’s intention for this year, or maybe all the years he has been doing this.

The energy was brought to this festival. Fans say that every single artist did their big one and performed like it was their last. Rapper Doechii being the one that sticks out the most. She’s been hot on the scene since the release of her album ‘Alligator bites never heal’ a highly praised album that has beautiful instrumentals to accompany it’s amazing story telling. Her raw energy and stage presence had old fans bumping and new fans adding her to their spotify playlist. There were many moments of fun, mosh pit, and dance energy with Playboi Carti, Kaytranada, Mustard, and Denzel Curry but there were also chill sit back and really listen vibes as well. The Alchemist, Action Bronson, mother nature herself Erykah Badu, Andre 3000, Faye webster, and many more with the energy that makes you want to sink into a couch and think. What was really special was Tyler having a MF DOOM tribute set. MF DOOM died back in 2020 and it hit rap lovers everywhere. Many of your favorite rappers credit him for his flow and his lyricism inspiring them and even making a nod to him in their own music. Tyler honoring his idol by having this tribute was beautiful and shows his appreciation for the great rapper. Tyler always gives his best at his own festival and he knows he is the big headliner to close out the first night and set the bar for the last day. His recent album ‘Chromokopia’ coming out a few weeks before the festival, fans were excited for this new character and the way he will tell his story on stage like he does so well already. As he always does Tyler gave a memorable performance giving us beautiful visuals and even better music.

Camp Flog Gnaw is a highly anticipated festival that leaves everyone wondering how he can top it off next year. Every single year since 2014 Tyler has done so and will continue.
