Just late last night Beyonce blessed us with an incredible new album. Queen Bey’s 7th solo album titled Renaissance is filled with variety and new sounds. The unique and strong new album features 16 tracks. Beyonce mentioned that this project was created during the pandemic, celebrating freedom and mixes new sounds of dance and house. The playful and upbeat album includes songs for any occasion or time of day. Whether that be driving to work in the morning or the Uber back from the club there is a song for you.
Some people felt as if the Renaissance album was too much and too risky because of the time we live in currently. It is important to go against the grain and take that risk, and that is exactly what Beyonce did. She was proud of her work and knew the public would appreciate it at this time.
The track “Plastic Off the Sofa” includes her angelic soft voice with riffs and detailed lyrics. This track was also recorded with live instruments like the guitar. Everything about this track just flows so nicely, it is a great indication of the rest of the album. “I’m That Girl” talks about Beyonce warning that love is her drug. Following this is the song “Cozy”, presenting an anthem about Black Femmes luxuriating in their skin. Each song portrays a deep and important message to her fans and listeners.
