Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Columbia, MD he considers the DMV home. In 2008, he came up with the name D-LUX in his basement. At this point in time, he had finished his first semester of college where he met his friends Jon and Domonique. D-LUXDMV and his two friends created a group named Fly & Flashy Entertainment. During this time, he created a Myspace artist page and wrote out all the songs he planned to make for his first three mixtapes.
Since then, he has never looked back. Since 2007, he has sacrificed everything for music, but sometimes he wants to start something new. D-LUXDMV enjoys sports and being with his wife when he is not in the studio. His inspiration comes from expression. As an introvert and the bravado of hip hop was something that always intrigued him. D-LUXDMV considers himself to be all the elements of American Hip Hop.
Five years from now, D-LUXDMV hopes to be working in a field that means something to him. Even though the role of an A&R has been calling his name, he is holding on to his dream as a major hip-hop artist. Tyga, Dave East, and Logic are just a few artists D-LUXDMV hopes to collaborate with one day.
D-LUXDMV has released 13 albums/mixtapes, three EPs (420, 420 II, LUX), and countless singles. Released in 2009, “Up & Coming Vol.3” is his favorite. “LUX” part 1 is in the works and parts 2, 3, etc will drop at some point. “Lux” is set to release very soon. The project is a 7-track compilation produced by various producers and D-LUXDMV mixed and mastered everything. Part 2 is expected to be released in mid-August. “Lux” shows all sides of himself, typically the theme for all his mixtapes.
