Growing up in Raleigh North Carolina, Mula is an independent artist learning from past rappers. Although he writes his own music he works with engineer Damain Hasbun who has been great at capturing his sound. After realizing he was not happy working at his job, he decided to pursue music.
The Cali sound will forever inspire Mula. Since a kid, West coast music was always inspirational for Mula. He considers his genre to be a mixture of hip hop, r&b, and a little bit of alternative rock. Growing up in the church he draws from gospel and R&B sounds. Mula is open to all kinds of music and ideas.
Family is Mula’s biggest motivation. Every day they encourage him not only with words but also in actions. He pushes to provide more for himself and his family. Growing up in church, Mula always had what’s called a family and friends day were church members, their families and people in the community get together for food and games. This always puts a smile on his face.
Mula’s name comes from his older brother because growing up people called him Cnote. As his younger brother, he decided to call himself Cmoney but getting older made him realize it was time to grow, and the name Mula came into play.
Like many other up-and-coming artists, Mula wants to get his foot in the door whether it be performing, ghostwriting, producing, or more music. One day he hopes to work with producers, engineers, and help other artists, and start his own record label. J. Cole, Kendrick, and Saviii 3rd are a few artists he hopes to collaborate with. Currently, Mula has an EP entitled Worker Turned Rapper and a single out. The EP describes his strive to create his own path in life. “Yes Sir ” ft. 2 Tonezz is his new single.
