OGBLACK is a new trap soul artist, born and raised in Illinois.
He began making music back in 2011, creating beats on the software FL Studio. At first, OGBLACK was solely making beats as a hobby and only for his own ears. It wasn’t until 2014 when he began playing his beats for other people, and after receiving positive feedback, he decided on becoming a producer.
The following year, OGBLACK ended up enlisting in the military, still in hopes of pursuing a producer career. In the military, he met other artists who had similar dreams, and they actually would create beats and collaborative projects together.
During that time, OGBLACK was making a beat for an artist when he caught an idea. He rapped on the beat, creating a reference track for the artist. After sending the reference track to the artist, he convinced OGBLACK to re-record the track for himself and to just include him as a feature. With such positive feedback, it was this moment where OGBLACK started to record his own songs.
In 2020, OGBLACK recorded his first track titled “3 Black Wraiths”.
Since then, OGBLACK has been an independent artist, writing his own music and producing his own beats. He has dropped seven singles, one EP, and four albums, his recent album being Watch Dat Boy.
