A Boogie Wit da Hoodie hits the music scene again with his new album “Me vs. Myself.” The 22-track album was highly anticipated by fans as they have waited for a little over two years since his previous album “Artist 2.0.” The album mostly delves into the typical rock star lifestyle, but Boogie stated that there was actually a lot of negativity around him while creating this project despite the many upbeat tracks featured on it. “Me vs. Myself” currently has three versions, the standard album, a deluxe, acapella version, and an instrumental version. What is important to note about the acapella and instrumental versions is that they include a song called “Needed That” featuring the now deceased PnB Rock.

A Boogie’s fellow artist and friend, PnB Rock was tragically murdered back in September of this year, impacting the entire hip-hop community. When discussing the track with Apple Music, Boogie stated “…I separated his song from my album and I’m dropping it [later] (Apple Music).” The rapper feels as though this is the best way to honor and respect his friend while still managing to put out his own work. For now, fans can enjoy the acapella version on “Me vs. Myself (Acapella) [Deluxe].”
In addition to “Needed That,” fans were specifically excited to hear “Water (Drowning Pt. 2) [feat. Kodak Black],” the sequel to his hit song “Drowning.” While A Boogie Wit da Hoodie had already been releasing music, the New York rapper rose to fame with “Drowning” back in 2017. The song even remains relevant today making its rounds on the popular app Tik Tok, showing the impact of the track.
