The iconic Doja Cat has done it again with the recent studio album “Scarlet”. The Los Angeles rapper released the album in September, after the previous album “Planet Her” in 2021. Doja Cat won best pop performance following the release of “Planet Her” but was criticized by the media claiming that her work had become too “pop” suggesting she should not be considered a rapper.
Doja Cat came back with a bang this September with the release of “Scarlet” which broke the industry and quieted any doubts in the minds of her critics. Doja wasn’t trying to prove anything however, her only focus was on creating music that would resonate with her fans. It’s safe to say that is exactly what her new album achieved with this album. Hit song from the album “Paint The Town Red” reached the number one spot on the US Billboards Top 100 with Agora Hills reaching the top 20! The album has an overall tone of unapologetic and unhinged, you can tell that Doja had some feelings that she was expressing through her music. The songs were kind of a personified version of Doja’s shift in identity from her last album, the shaved eyebrows and dark red clothing showing us the exact feeling that she was looking to portray in this last album.
