Following the release of her well-received, successful album ‘Planet Her,’ fans were curious as to what Doja Cat would return with. Two years later, the superstar returned with “Attention” the first single release on her latest album ‘Scarlet.’ Doja Cat took to the internet to explain how she wants her music to have more artistry and showcase who she really is beyond pop songs, leading to the more unique style that “Attention” has; Therefore, the rest of the album was highly anticipated.
Shortly after “Attention” Doja came back with another single titled “Paint the Town Red” which contains both Doja’s desire for change in style, as well as elements of her previous releases, overall pleasing her fans.
Doja Cat has recently been in a bit of controversy based on comments made regarding stan culture, which ultimately upset the public. However, fans still remain by her side and Doja made it clear on this new track that she does enjoy fame and cares about her fans, she simply does not want to be worshipped the way that stan culture presents itself.
The chorus sums all of this up saying, “Yeah, b**ch, I said what I said / I’d rather be famous instead / I let all that get to my head / I don’t care, I paint the town red”
