After going head to head and back and forth with Kendrick Lamar at the beginning of the year, Drake makes an appearance on Camila Cabello’s latest album, C,XOXO.
C,XOXO was released this summer on June 28, 2024. The album has two Drake features, including “Uuugly” and “HOT UPTOWN”.
“Uuugly” is the ninth track on the album. Between the two features, “Uuugly” is a more slower-paced song compared to “HOT UPTOWN”.
Originally, “Uuugly” was the outro for “HOT UPTOWN”, but Cabello felt it should be it’s own song due to the difference in vibes that the two tracks had.
“Uuugly” is just short of being two minutes long, and solely features Drake’s vocals as he lays down bars about heartbreak.
When asked about why Drake has his own song on her album in an interview with Billboard, Cabello responded that “selfishly, [she] just [wanted] to hear Drake on [her] own album.”
“Uuugly” also has a visualizer that accompanied the track when the album dropped. Drake is not seen in the visualizer, however, it is a repeated clip of three retro television screens showing Cabello with a lollipop in her mouth while typing something on her phone.
