Gunna has unveiled his fourth studio album, “A Gift & a Curse,” a 15-track offering that refrains from featuring collaborations. The project boasts production credits from an impressive lineup, including 88Krazy, CuBeatz, Fresh Ayr, Ghetto Guitar, EVRGRN, Mario Petersen, Swiff D, Omar Grand, LNK, Pooh Beatz, and more.
Spanning a runtime of 45 minutes, “A Gift & a Curse” maintains its solo artist status by omitting any guest appearances. Alongside its collection of tracks, the album also features the previously-released single “Bread & Butter,” a bold statement where Gunna refutes allegations of cooperating with authorities in exchange for his freedom. The album stands as Gunna’s first major record since his release from incarceration.
Following a hiatus since January 2022, when he dropped the chart-topping “DS4EVER” project, “A Gift & a Curse” marks Gunna’s much-anticipated return. “DS4EVER” secured Gunna his second consecutive number-one spot on the charts, riding high on the success of its hit single “Pushin P,” featuring Future and Young Thug.
This album comes as a follow-up to the 2022 release “DS4EVER,” an expansive project comprising 20 tracks featuring collaborations with an impressive roster, including Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Drake, Kodak Black, Chlöe, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Roddy Ricch, Chris Brown, and more. “DS4EVER” dominated the charts, ascending to the No. 1 position with a remarkable 150,000 album-equivalent units sold during its debut week. Since then, Gunna has dropped the standalone single “Banking On Me” and contributed to an array of tracks from his peers, including Cordae’s “Today,” Lil Durk’s “What Happened To Virgil,” Pharrell Williams’ “Functional Addict,” Pooh Shiesty’s “Certified,” DJ Khaled’s “FAM GOOD, WE GOOD,” and Metro Boomin’s “All The Money.”
