Last year Kalan Fr Fr released ‘222.’ His first full-length project of 2022, and a 13-track album, it was produced by the likes of New Lane Ant, Benjamin Lasnier, Earl “EB” Johnson, Inderan “indy” Bailey, and Omar Grant. The last song on the album “Going Through Things” received a music video release last month. “Going Through Things” is a rap anthem dedicated to the pressures and expectations of keeping in touch with those around him on his rise as an artist. Kaln Fr Fr gets vulnerable with talks about hate and forgiveness, love and care, and giving back to those you care about regardless of their intentions. The prospect of taking care of everything by yourself because you worry that others stress themselves to worry about you. Especially his parents whom he feels tend to feel guilty for not talking to enough:
“Know, I feel guilty
I feel like I don’t talk to my mom as much as I should and it really bother me
I hope she always know where my heart is ’cause I don’t always feel like I’m doing enough
With my pops, I feel like
I know he going through a lot right now and I can’t be there for him the way he want me to be there for him
So I just, I be feeling guilty”
The newly released music video was directed by Sean Kelly and produced by Asher Gardner.
