Kendrick Lamar has intensified his long-standing feud with Drake by releasing a scathing diss track titled “Euphoria.” The 36-year-old rapper unleashed his fury on Tuesday, aiming pointedly at Drake in this new song. “Euphoria” serves as a direct response to Drake’s recent disses and Kendrick’s dismissal of the idea that they are on the same level.
The title “Euphoria” is a not so subtle jab at Drake, who also produces the HBO series of the same name. Kendrick spares no mercy in the track, calling Drake a “scam artist” and a “habitual liar.” He criticizes Drake’s career trajectory from acting to music, sneering at his motivations and authenticity.
The feud between Kendrick and Drake dates back to 2013, when Kendrick provocatively mentioned Drake in Big Sean’s “Control.” Tensions escalated this year after Kendrick’s appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” where he dismissed the idea of a “big three” in rap, referring to himself, Drake, and J. Cole. Drake retaliated with diss tracks “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle,” the latter of which was pulled due to an unauthorized Tupac Shakur voice imitation.
Kendrick’s “Euphoria” also criticizes Drake’s relationship with his son and references the Tupac controversy. Despite J. Cole’s brief involvement in the feud with his track “7 Minute Drill,” he later apologized, calling Kendrick”one of the greatest.”
