Bronx-born rapper Lil Tjay has started off 2024 with his song “Told Ya,” a melodic track all about both his confidence and manifestation in making it big within the music industry. He raps in the chorus:
“Told y’all ni**as a million times, “I’m gon’ make it” / Pull up, Bentley truck and it’s mine, it’s not basic / H**s see the jewelry, it shine, and get naked / How you say you true to your grind with no patience?”
Lil Tjay initially gained attention from his track “Resume” followed up by “Brothers” back in 2017. This led him to signing a record deal with Colombia Records, and he currently has four full albums. Now, at the young age of 22, the “F.N” rapper has already collaborated with fellow artists Kid Laroi, 6lack, Lil Mosey, and more, creating a big name for himself.
One popular collaboration is his feature on Ice Spice’s “Gangsta Boo” from her EP ‘Like..?’ Lil Tjay’s style mostly consists of melodic rap, drill, and RnB, meshing well with Ice Spice and her personal style of music. This of course, was also a huge collaboration since the pair are both born and raised in New York.
