Lil Vada and Donny Solo have returned with their hit, new track “Up!” The track samples LoveRance’s track “Up! (Feat. IamSu and Skipper),” taking a bit more modern twist on the 2011 track. Lil Vada and Donny Solo have been very vocal about their use of freestyling, essentially doing that on each track over a classic hip-hop beat. The pair want to show their appreciation for the OG’s by sampling tracks while also putting their own lyrics into it, showcasing their personal styles.
This, however, is not their first time sampling tracks and going viral with their own lyrics. Their two tracks “Wop It” which samples “Yeah!” but Usher and “Rack City” which of course samples “Rack City” by Tyga, have both gone viral on Tik Tok, mostly becoming dancing challenges. The two rappers have now even created their own dance for “Up!” increasing engagement from fans and encouraging people to have fun with it.
Nostalgia is a powerful tool when making music, proving to be true with other tracks that involve sampling older music. So, Lil Vada and Donny Solo have established a formula of freestyling catchy lyrics onto older beats providing listeners with an interesting take on the original tracks. Fans are sure to be pleased with this latest release.
