The Hotties are in for a treat as Megan Thee Stallion makes her long-awaited return to the music scene this week. The Grammy-winning artist began teasing her comeback earlier this month, sharing glimpses from the studio before officially dropping her new act III single, “Lover Girl.” Usually known for her bold, unapologetic persona, this time she shows a softer side with her new boo, NBA star Klay Thompson. “Lover Girl” is produced by Jacobdior and the track samples the iconic R&B group Total’s “Kissin’ You.” The result is a nostalgic feel and catchy blend, as Megan sings about her relationship and love life. Although this new song is more on the lovey side, she still raps in her signature raunchy lyrics.
Megan Thee Stallion also drops the music video the night of the release. In the black-and-white music video, Megan channels 90s glamour. She performs with four dancers in lingerie, uses a martini glass stem as a pole, and includes a steamy chair routine. Dressed as Cupid with a corset, wings, and bow, she searches for love in her own style. At the end, fans catch a mysterious hint: a wolf growling in the dark, suggesting more to come.
“Lover Girl” is Megan’s second single of 2025 and hints at a new chapter in her music. It also offers a preview of her upcoming Act III album, which she mentioned in December. There’s no release date yet, but during a TikTok Live, Megan shared that she hopes to feature Doechii, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B on her upcoming album.
