Mustard took us back to church with his new single “Pray For Me” released on July 12th. Mustard showed off his versatility by performing the vocals and co-producing the song. He sticks with his signature melodic beat while adding a choir to give it a soulful feeling. He uses similar melodic production on songs such as “Ballin’” with Roddy Ricch.

This song is the outro to his long awaited album tiled Faith of a Mustard Seed, which is dropping July 26th with 14 songs. This album is highly anticipated as his last album Perfect Ten, released in 2019, leaving fans looking forward to this project for 5 years. Perfect Ten gave us classic songs such as “Ballin’” and “100 Bands” that are still in rotation years later. There’s no doubt that tons of artists will be featured on this album, with one pre-released song featuring Travis Scott. Fans are speculating features from Roddy Ricch, Kendrick Lamar, and YG that are sure to climb the charts.
“Pray For Me” was released with a music video filmed by Justice Silvera. Justice and Mustard delivered a powerful message about prayer and not losing faith in God. Mustard talks about his struggles with growing up without a father and viewing his uncle as his father figure. He also raps about missing his grandmother and needing her at the times that he struggles most. His main message in the song is to pray for the people that you love most and the opportunities that you get in your life.
