Five years after her successful album ‘Queen,’ the queen of rap has returned with ‘Pink Friday 2,’ deemed of course, as a sequel to her iconic album ‘Pink Friday.’ The album was released on December 8th of 2023 and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Additionally, 14 of the 22 tracks landed in the Billboard Hot 100. There are also two repackage albums ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe)’ and ‘Pink Friday 2 (Gag City PLUTO Edition).’
The album showcases her range as an artist utilizing different flows and beats, as well as highlighting her singing capabilities in addition to her rapping. This comes as no surprise since the “Anaconda” rapper in the past has delved into more emotional tracks, pop hits, and classic rap.
Minaj initially released “Super Freaky Girl” and “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” as singles leading up to the album. Both of which were successful on their own, getting fans excited for the full album. Thus far, since its release, fans have been overall pleased with ‘Pink Friday 2,’ in particular, the track “FTCU” which has trended on Tik Tok with lyrics from the second verse;
“Yeah, high heels on my tippies / Dolce & Gabbana, that’s on my titties / Cop me Vetements when I ride the dickie / I still got the juice, b***h, buy a sippie.”
