After much anticipation, Tinashe has returned with her seventh album ‘QUANTUM BABY.’ The album includes 10 tracks including the music video for her viral hit “Nasty.”
The prerelease single “Nasty” did insane numbers, went viral on Tik Tok, and overall dominated the music scene. Tinashe however, is no stranger to a top hit with a discography including “2 On,” “Company,” “All Hands on Deck,” and so many others.
The album opens with “No Simulation” a track about wanting to truly feel emotions without faking anything, nor distractions. This dreamy opener is mostly acapella, showing off Tinashe’s stunning vocals, but a slight piano comes in, in the latter half of the song. “No Simulation” sets an excellent tone for the rest of the album.
Moving further into the album we get “Cross That Line,” a track about wanting to pursue someone since they very well could be your endgame; you simply have to give them the chance first. The chorus sums this up with the lyrics, “I don’t wanna miss it if it’s right there / I don’t wanna run out of time / You could be the love of my life / I’m ready to cross that line.”
Another fan favorite on the album is track seven, “No Broke Boys.” Tinashe knows her worth and emphasizes it in this track, making it clear she has standards that need to be met if you want to be with her. In an almost teasing way, she sings the chorus, “No broke boys, no new friends / I’m that pressure, give me my tens / Ain’t no lie, ain’t no shade / F**k on me, then you know he paid”
The album overall oozes self-confidence with sexy and sultry themes. Tinashe fans will be pleased with her maintain her sound on some fun new tracks. Listen to “QUANTUM BABY” below!
