Saweetie is back with her latest track SHOT O’ CLOCK. The song is all about partying, dancing, and of course, taking shots. The track samples “Tom’s Diner” by Suzanne Vega which has been sampled numerous times by artists such as Fall Out Boy, Yo Gotti, Logic, and so many more. Britney Spears even did a rendition of the track with Giorgio Moroder back in 2015. The original song in itself is iconic, continuing to be showcased in newer music, the latest being “SHOT O’ CLOCK.”
The sample can be heard in the bridge with the lyrics stating, “We gon’ turn up at the party / Takin’ shots off of my body / Got me feelin’ hella naughty / Sneaky link, don’t tell nobody”
Saweetie is no stranger to producing hits and viral music, songs such as “My Type,” “Best Friend,” and “Tap In” were all heavily used on Tik Tok and remained on the charts for some time. It is no secret that the “Icy Girl” rapper has solidified herself in the music industry and continues to be a force to be reckoned with.
