Jermaine Cole is one of those examples. 2011 was one of the greatest rap years because Cole World is released, the first album from the greatly recognized rapper now. The album was full of hits but ‘’Work Out’’ stands out. It’s so good for many reasons like the incredible catchiness, the perfect sounding hook with notes of Daft Punk in the mix.
J. Cole raps about a one-night stand and drops some famous lines like: « We’ve got a good thing, Don’t know if I’ma see you again ». When you hit play and hear these words it takes you back to the moment this came out. The American rapper encapsulates the sound of the 2010 era in this track.
Featuring every great aspect of a song like, dope background singing, ad-libs also, hard 808’s and kicks. Cole was competing with Ye, Jamie Fox, and, Drake around that time when this was only his first studio album. He made the world hear him become one of the greatest in the game with help from this track.
