On June 30, the BET Awards took place in Los Angeles, CA. With the host, Taraji P. Henson. Making jokes and doing a spin on Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” With her rapping “It’s About Us!” with many people in the crowd on their feet and having a great time, wearing a red hoodie when Kendrick performed his Juneteenth Concert.
Usher has been given the Lifetime Achievement Award, with multiple artists singing some of his greatest hits. Artists like Childish Gambino, Keke Palmer, Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Marsha Ambrosius, Chlöe, Tinashe, Teyana Taylor, Monét, and Latto. BETNetworks has a 16-minute compilation of all of Usher’s hits performed by the artists.
The performances there were Megan Thee Stallion days after her third studio album was dropped. Victoria Monét sang “On Mama” and “Alright” with KAYTRANDA, which he dropped an album last month, and later performed with Tayana Taylor on “Bad Girl.” by USHER. Sexyy Red, singing “Get It Sexyy” & and ” You My Everything.” Ice Spice performed “Think You The Sh*t (Fart).”
Latto, singing “Sunday Service.” Heiress Harris and Vanvan, “Be You”. Tyla, Gunna, Skillibeng, sang “Jump”. GloRilla, “Yeah Glo,” and “TGIF,” her new single. They also again brought out Megan Thee Stallion for their song “Wanna Be.”
Ms. Lauryn Hill and her son, YG Marley, performed “Lost Ones” and “Praise Jah In The Moonlight.” Later, bringing Wyclef Jean for “Fu-Gee-La.”Will Smith sang on BET with his new song “You Can Make It.”
