Following her previous single, “I Look Good,” American rapper Lakeyah has re-entered the charts with the release of her newest single “Mind Yo Business” featuring Latto.
Lakeyah talked about being able to work with Latto, emphasizing how excited she was to finally collaborate with one of her “favorite new era rap girls”. Also describing the video for the single featuring the two artists to be “fire”.
After beginning her rapping career at 15, it only took three years for her to move to Atlanta and sign her first record deal. The now 21-year-old has recently signed a new contract with the legendary Motown records.
The single “Mind Yo Business” was the first single released by Lakeyah to kickstart her newest career milestone. In the song, a sample of “Let’s Get F***** Up” from Lil Kim and Iconz’s 2001 single can be heard with a special twist.
Rapping over the snippet, Lakeyah calls out the men who don’t stand a chance with her, especially if they haven’t earned as much money as her. Along with Latto making sure to call out all the guys who have lied to her just for a chance to get with her, as well as those who don’t match her financial standings.
