The Met Gala is a once a year event that features the world’s biggest stars showcasing their interesting style under the constraints of the theme. The theme this year is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style with the co-chairs: A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, Lewis Hamilton and Colman Domingo while also celebrating black designers. Starting with A$AP Rocky, Rocky kept it simple with a black and white suit with a black overcoat that was AWGE (his own brand) paired with Christian Louboutin loafers.
Pharrell wore a silver knitted Louis Vuitton suit jacket with a white collared shirt, black tie and black slacks.
Teyana Taylor had one of the more distinct outfits. Ms. Taylor wore a dark grey and red three piece Ruth E. Carter suit with an incredibly long red overcoat, a burgundy tophat, and red, black/grey wedge heels. The getup was accessorized with red gloves, a red cane, and noticeable silver jewelry.
A rising star in music, Tyla wore a white and black vertically striped off the shoulder Jacquemus dress with a matching long coat.
R&B Legend Usher effortlessly wore a Polo Lauren tuxedo with a white scarf.
One of the artists with the biggest year was Sabrina Carpenter, Carpenter wore a burgundy bodysuit with a Louis Vuitton burgundy suit jacket with two long tails.
Another rising star in music, Doechii appeared in a Louis Vuitton get up after making quite the entrance. Her outfit included checkered shorts, burgundy long socks, burgundy loafers to go along with a LV patterned suit jacket.
Cardi B stayed away from the suits that a lot of celebrities were wearing when she walked the carpet with a matching green Burberry jacket and pants set with a lighter green blouse underneath.
Nicki Minaj wore a navy blue unlike a lot of patrons did, with a navy blue and white patterned Thom Browne skirt, and a navy blue and white short sleeve collared shirt up top.
Lauryn Hill took the presentation to another level when she had someone walk the carpet with her just to hold her umbrella. She wore a distinctly yellow Stella McCartney suit with an overcoat that ended on the other side of the shrubs. The Met Gala is a time for all celebrities to show off their unique fashion sense. This year was no different for musicians.
