Back with a new album (May 19), Summer Walker released such a beautiful EP, ‘Clear 2: Soft Life EP’. Between nine tracks, each song was filled with their own emotions, a new experience, and so much more under the guise of love and healing. Opening with “To Summer, From Cole,” we hear J. Cole congratulate her on her pregnancy and newborn while also sharing bits about his journey of fatherhood.
From there on, we visit themes of navigating dating as a Black girl, being cheated on, trying to seem “soft,” to be more desirable, falling in love, healing, and wanting more for herself. Between the promo video for the album including Sukihana and Sexyy Red, the lush greenery and cute background, ‘Clear 2: Soft Life EP’ is definitely the album you need to just vibe out.
