Being obsessed over an ex doesn’t sound too bad when SZA does it…
Her hit song, “Kill Bill” was released on Dec. 9th on her sophomore album, ‘SOS’ alongside 22 other tracks such as “Blind” and “I Hate U” which went viral on countless social media platforms even before the release of the album. Since the release ‘SOS’ has spent a month on the Billboard 200 chart and the response to the songs have sparked humorous yet “critical” discussions about how many relate, especially to “Kill Bill.”
Referencing Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 movie, ‘Kill Bill’, SZA sings about murdering her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend. With an eerie but strong beat and humbly understanding lyrics for many, the song became a hit and even has users on TikTok making thirst traps, their own verses, even tagging their own exes.
And of course, a song with this much power deservedly needs its own music video!
Devising her plan to kill the man that did her dirty in the car with Vivica A. Fox, she suits up as Beatrix ‘The Bride’ Kiddo, the main character in ‘Kill Bill’. In the middle of the video, there’s even an animation of her retaliation against her ex where she literally rips his heart out.
