Kanye, Ye, Yeezy, Mr. Narcissist, whatever you wish to call him, he is officially back! Not only is he back, however, but we as a population and as fans are also now witnessing a new season of Ye with new beginnings and new music. In this latest single, The Game collabs with Mr. Kanye West in his newest single, “Eazy,” where he speaks about their troubled past growing up. Both The Game goes into further detail referencing misfortunes he has had to face such as the death of loved ones. In addition, Kanye speaks about the life of rich kids (possibly a reference to his own children) to a much poorer way of living. Kanye raps, “Rich-a** kids, this ain’t you’ mama house, Climb on your brother’s shoulders, get that Top Ramen out.” Top Ramen being a cheap alternative to Ramen noodles are known to be purchased by those who are tight on money and are typically not purchased from a rich family.
All-in-all, The Game and Kanye West tell us the story of where they came from and where they are now, letting us all know that life is not the same and whether we are ready or not, we are now entering into a new season of life. New experiences, more blessings, and more obstacles to come. This, however, we should not fear, for although Kanye is currently going through a divorce with Kim Kardashian, he is still looking at it with the best possible perspective. He raps, “…we havin’ the best divorce ever, if we go to court, we’ll go to court together.” Implying that despite what hardships Ye is facing right now, he is viewing it in the best possible way.
The Game and Ye has blessed us with a single which is only the beginning. Although they have been in the game for quite a long time, “Eazy,” is just another reminder that they are here to stay.
