The long awaited return of the pride of Atlanta: Young Thug. We all have been waiting for what Young Thug would do next especially with the known circumstances, the announcement of a new album: ‘Uy Scuti’, and the amazing feature on Lil Baby’s ‘Dum, Dumb, and Dumber’. Now, we have our answer: ‘Money on Money’ with Future. The music video begins with a different instrumental along with a burning YSL rug which could be symbolism for what has been going on in his life and a new phase in his career.
With the song being named Money on Money, he begins with rapping about spending money on his woman and his children. He then hints at his past two years with the line “I don’t want you to go and do nothing if I gotta be the one telling you to spin. These FN’s telling for nothing, and I gotta be the one calling them friends”, before going back into the braggadocious rap discussing the drop top Rolls Royce. As he gets into his verse, he details a plethora of designer garments and luxuries of living an expensive lifestyle. Before ending the verse with another lookback with “I been in the trenches filled with hyenas” before rapping about a Bugatti Spyder, another car the average person can not afford and that model also shares the name Spyder with Young Thug’s clothing brand.
We then get a beat change for Future verse, which begins with audio from their infamous Instagram live that included the popular line “She belongs to the Streets”. Future gives us a typical great Future feature right before the beat switches back to the original and ends with a King Slime’s chorus. This was a highly anticipated return to the game, and it has lived up to the hype. Young Thug has an album ‘Uy Scuti’ coming out this month, and this song has increased the anticipation for as we all are excited to have the Atlanta Great back.
