Live, Love, and “Greatness”

Greatness was released on February 22nd, just months after Takeoff (former member of Migos) was fatally murdered. In January of 2023, Quavo released “WITHOUT YOU” as a dedication to his former band mate and, nephew, friend, and now the new song Greatness is just another way for him to honor his late family member. In the song, Quavo sings, “ My chain, my watch, my wrist, my MotherF**kin’ house, my rise and grind (Grind). I’d give away all this shit just to see my dawg just one more time”. The world of hip-hop and pop culture was deeply affected by the loss of Takeoff, and it is safe to say the remaining members of Migos felt it deeply and will continue to feel his absence. This song truly encapsulates what it feels like to lose someone close to you while being in the spotlight. Celebrities lives aren’t easier than regular people’s just because they’re celebrities. They still go through hard things, they still lose people close to them, and they still struggle with everyday people’s issues.
