Jeremihs new song called “Wait on It” was released on June 28th, 2024 and fans are loving it! It features both Chris Brown and Bryson Teller, and it is Jeremih’s first single since his departure from Def Jam Recordings. This is the first single from his upcoming music series which includes three seven-song EPs. It peaked at 48 for US hot R&B/hiphop songs for Billboard. Jeremih states that the song is about the complexities of romantic relationships but focuses mostly on the tension between patience and desire. The main chorus of the song uses the saying “Wait on It” which is connected to the theme of waiting which is both literal and metaphorical. The song expresses a pining towards intimacy and connection but it’s important to let things take their natural course. There are many different cultural references and metaphors. An example is the use of ‘pop champagne’ and ‘diamonte’ which is like luxury and celebration! Some lyrics have hints of jealousy and past relationships. The music itself sets a good vibe for summer!
