Meet independent artist Johnny Da$h. The rising artist was born and raised in Queens, New York and says he was inspired by being quick and dashing in real life, leading to his stage name.
Utilizing both Spanish and English, his genre and style is a mixture of hip-hop, rnb, regatón, and dembow; Da$h makes it clear that he intends on being a diverse artist, this aspect being a major reason why he thinks people should listen to his music. He emphasizes this point saying “it’s going to be different.”
When asked to describe his image, Da$h simply states, “A product of my environment…” His musical inspiration stems from his personal experiences, mind, body, and soul. Aside from his musical inspiration, his biggest motivation is his two children saying, “They add to my spark.”
Da$h also puts a major emphasis on passion; “You really have to be passionate about what you do; This is a grind regardless of your outside life…you have to see it through.” This idea is backed up by a motto that he also lives by, Y.O.L.O.
Da$h writes all of his own music and collaborates with his producer/engineer MIC West, whom he was introduced to by his good friend Linx. While currently a car salesman, he ultimately made the decision to pursue music after selling a car to Linx. The two shared their mutual interest for making music, leading Linx to introduce Da$h to MIC West and the rest is history.
That being said, the New York artist has been in the music game since October of 2024; Although new to the music scene, Da$h says thus far it has been a smooth road and he looks forward to the hard work it takes to reach success. He also adds that his favorite aspect about being an artist so far is the ability to see and hear himself grow through his music.
Despite being so early into his music career, the “INNA BOOTH” artist has big goals for himself. Short term, he hopes to receive a million streams on a track this year while progressing and perfecting his craft. In the future, he wants to reach a million streams, and eventually win a Grammy. He also mentioned his desire to collaborate with self-proclaimed “King of Dembow,” El Alfa.
Within the next five years, he hopes to be more experienced and well-rounded in both music and sports. However, despite major improvement, he wants to continue to learn, grow, and level-up over a long period of time. Da$h intends on having a deeper understanding of his fields, leading to leadership within his teams.
Outside of music, Da$h says he would like to pursue a career in athletics, sharing his love for sports. He also enjoys gaming, spending time with family and friends, and giving back to the community. “I’ve participated in food drives for the homeless and charity events for people in need. I would [however] like to be [even] more active in the community…Hopefully my music career can help me give back to others. Giving back is important to me because I know at points in my life where I’ve been in positions where I didn’t have specific resources that I needed. This will help me get to know and connect with the people and see the impact I’m creating for the future artists coming up.”
As a final message to his fans he says, “Always show up and believe in yourself no matter your circumstances. We tend to be our biggest critics.”
