Alejandro Coranza, also known as rapper name Ohgeesy, is a Los Angeles native who was born on November 27th, 1993. He is an upcoming American rapper who is well known for being part of the hip-hop group, Shorline Mafia. The group signed to Atlantic Records back in 2018 and has had the opportunity to make a name for themselves in the music industry. Rapper Ohgeesy then went on to pursue his own solo career in 2021 with the release of his debut album, Geezyworld, where it placed #102 on the Billboard 200.
Over the summer Ohgeesy released a track titled, “Blame Me”, where he dives into the difficulties of being in a troubled relationship and questions his role in the problems of a relationship. The track essentially is about providing a shoulder to place blame on for the sake of being able to move forward. Throughout the song, you’ll hear him contemplate his decisions and go back and forth with himself about whether he’s at fault for the issues occurring, hence the title, “Blame Me”. Just to provide some insight into the lyircs of the song, in the beginning he says, “We been goin’ through it, put the blame on me”, showing his willingness to put his pride aside and take full blame for their problems. He then goes on to say, “All these other b*****s trash, lame to me, And I still f*** with them, shame on me,” acknowledging his faults and where he feels he went wrong in the relationship. However, there’s this repetition of the verse “Is it all my fault?” implying that he is not entirely sure if he is solely responsible for the downfall of the relationship.
The track Blame Me is available on all streaming platform as well as the rest of his latest album Geezy World 2, ready to be listened to! If you’re a person who is a deep thinker and in the mood for some low tempo rap, join Ohgeesy on his journey of contemplation!
