On December 21, 2023, Jay Jullio dropped his newest single “Bookbag Kid”. This would be Jullio’s first single in the last two years after “Hold On”.
Jay Jullio is a new artist on the rise in the hip hop scene. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Jullio started making music when he was young. Jullio has always had a passion for music. In fact, writing songs and making music got him through some pretty hard times growing up.
Between this single and his last one from 2021, Jullio took a long break from making music and used that time to heal. Once he did so, he brought himself to produce “Bookbag Kid”. With “Bookbag Kid”, Jullio uses the track as a way to self-reflect and to tell his story about the struggles he has been through to get to where he is today.
Prior to “Bookbag Kid”, Jullio has released three EPs. Despite having these projects out, he dismisses them. But Jullio reveals that he is currently working on his “first real project” titled I AM NOT WHO I WAS as well as a few more singles to come before it.
