Remember when rappers were not as outspoken about their love life? Today, some of the best rappers are making songs dedicated to their significant others. Gucci Mane is the latest rapper to create a track showering his wife, Keyshia Ka’oir with love. Not often do we see rap artists cherish their partner on a track. “Miss Davis” will definitely change the rap game because “love” is something that needs to be expressed more in songs.
This song is timeless, as Gucci Mane is a prominent artist who is uplifting Keyshia through his work. As his career has grown he never lost his flow or style, rather he got progressively stronger. Instead of following everyone else and rapping about drugs, alcohol, and degrading women, he created a track that makes his wife feel loved and appreciated.
“Miss Davis” doesn’t sound chill, rather it has a hard trap sound. “Miss Davis” is a tribute to his wife for good reasons. Keyshia has stuck by Gucci’s side through
it all, including when he went to prison for two years. On the track Gucci raps about Keyshia’s loyalty, “I was at my worst, so you deserve my best/I treat you like a queen, ‘cause you deserve the best/Said I’d get twenty years, she didn’t break a sweat/Went from kissin’ in the jail to kissin’ on a jet.”
Besides “Miss Davis” Gucci Mane has dropped a few singles this year: “Blood All On It” featuring Young Dolph and Key Glock, “Publicity Stunt,” and “Serial Killers.”After five years of marriage, Gucci Mane and Keyshia Ka’oir show off their love in the music video for his new single.
