Last year the world lost Takeoff, who was famously known as one of the members of the Migos. Quavo was able to pay a heartfelt tribute to TakeOff with a performance at this year’s 2023 Grammy Awards. He honored his nephew and groupmate by performing “Without You,” which was released last year after the following of TakeOff’s death, during the ceremony’s memorial segment.
Quavo had half of his face covered as he wore black mask and was joined by the Maverick City Music choir. Alongside images of musicians who have passed away in 2022 flashed on the screen behind him. The most powerful moment of the performance came towards the end when Quavo walked to the microphone at the front of the stage and held aloft TakeOff’s chain as his photo was broadcast inside the arena.
