Debuting at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar released his latest single ‘Not Like Us’ on May 4, 2024. This track marks his fourth diss track targeted at Drake, coming out less than 24 hours after ‘Meet the Grahams,’ his third dedicated diss.
The cover art notably displays Drake’s residence in Toronto, Canada, located on Park Lane Circle. The thumbnail appears to mimic the style of a sex offender registry, pinpointing convicted offenders’ residences. This aligns with Kendrick Lamar’s previous allegations, suggesting that Drake is a sexual predator. This aligns with Kendrick Lamar’s previous allegations, suggesting that Drake is a sexual predator.
Lamar raps
Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young
You better not ever go to cell block one
The Hip-Hop/Rap artist did hesitate to boldly confront past allegations against Drake, unapologetically labelling him a “certified pedophile” in a scathing critique of Drake’s September 2021 album, Certified Lover Boy.
“Not Like Us” stormed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in mid-May, becoming an international sensation and smashing numerous records. Within its first week, Kendrick Lamar’s diss track set a new benchmark for the most single-day Spotify streams for a hip-hop song in the US, overtaking Drake and Lil Baby’s “Girls Want Girls.” Lamar didn’t stop there—he also broke the global single-day streaming record, surpassing Drake’s “Champagne Poetry.” To top it off, “Not Like Us” became the fastest hip-hop song to reach 100 million Spotify streams, leaving Drake’s “God’s Plan” in its wake.
Notably, among other diss tracks, Kendrick called Drake a snitch and a culture vulture. He is essentially criticizing Drake’s authenticity and artistic integrity.
