AS AN ERA ENDS, A NEW ONE BEGINS WITH DRAKE AND KANYE WEST SQUASHING THEIR BEEF

At the moment, it seems as if the long-standing beef between Drake and Kanye West is over. The rappers both posted Instagram photos with one another last night, outside of Drake’s home in Toronto.

On November 8th, Kanye West, alongside J Prince, posted a video on Instagram calling for him and Drake to come together for an event in Los Angeles on December 7th to help call for the release of Larry Hoover from prison.

The Drake and Kanye beef started all the way back in 2010 but really amped up back in 2018 when Drake claimed that Kanye was the one who leaked the information about his son to Pusha-T, which the latter used in his diss track towards Drake, “Story of Adidon”. Since then, both Kanye and Drake have traded shots at each other through social media or bars in songs. Even with billboards, as Kanye put up a bunch of them in Toronto as part of his album rollout for ‘DONDA’. More recently, the newly added ‘DONDA’ deluxe song, “Life of the Party” featuring André 3000, was leaked by Drake. Thus causing André 3000 to speak out publicly about how he didn’t know that Drakes diss on Kanye’s verse would make it onto the final version of the song, saying “It’s unfortunate that it was released in this way and two artists that I love are going back and forth” (Kanye has since changed the verse to better fit the theme of the song and album).

With all of that seemingly behind them, the music world is in a much better place with two of the all-time greats on good terms with one another. Due to the sheer influence, both have had on the industry and their past works with one another, it’s hard not to imagine a collaboration between the two can’t be too far behind.

You can stream the of ‘DONDA (Deluxe)’ by Kanye West and ‘Certified Lover Boy’ by Drake on all major streaming platforms.
